The owner of a mega yacht simply tells his Captain where he wants to go and when. Not allowing for his guests and family wishes to the contrary, then this usually happens. However mega yachts that can cruise the world cost their owners €40 million (and upward) to buy and many millions more a year to operate, so this freedom comes with a significant cost attached.
The one identified disadvantage of Raffles is that it does not allow an individual apartment owner the same degree of freedom as the mega yacht owner, however it comes very close and indisputably it does cost significantly less!
Notwithstanding this limitation in practice Raffles can go to places mega yachts can’t hope to and do so with a much higher level of safety, comfort and convenience than even the largest of mega yachts. Also when it gets there it provides recreation facilities and a fully equipped support base that mega yachts typically can’t.
Seeing and enjoying the world in a carefree way is the prime reason for living on Raffles. To allow this a great deal of thought has gone into how its cruising should be planned for and operated to provide the maximum enjoyment to its apartment owners. In a way that is fair to all, but still sufficiently flexible to respond to individual desires.
The system described below achieves this but as noted it will ultimately be up to the owners to regulate where Raffles cruises to, the places it stops, and how long it stays.
