The optional “standby” your apartment package

A large part of the enjoyment of acquiring a custom yacht, or building a home is participating in designing and outfitting its interior over the 18 to 30 months it typically takes to build.

On Raffles, because it is a fully licensed (commercial) passenger vessel much of this work necessarily has to be carried out by Donald Starkey, working with AMS, Shiptech Naval Architects, and the Lloyd’s surveyors for construction, to ensure compliance with Lloyd’s Register, the IMO and the Isle of Man and British government’s ultra strict requirements.

However you as individual apartment owners can actively participate in deciding what goes into your apartment, even to having the option to appoint your own interior designer or having Donald Starkey custom design it specifically to your wishes.

Just as with building a custom yacht this can be a lot of fun, but in Raffles it can be more so because of the thousands of superb craftsmen and artisans AMS can call upon. They can make, by hand, individually designed for you, almost everything you will want in an apartment. Using an incredible range of materials, from bamboo to solid gold.

If you would like to enjoy this unique and challenging experience AMS can assist in arranging as an optional package, including your living in:

• A 5 star international hotel room or suite.
• A luxury fully serviced 1 to 3 bedroom apartment.
• A rented furnished apartment / town house.
• A villa in its own groups (with / without swimming pool).

+ provision of a car, from a Mercedes 600 to a “mini”, with a driver (optional) or for the adventurous / antique Vespas.
+ your own personal (college graduate) English speaking PA / secretary / interior design assistant to help you
+ full medical / evacuation insurances (quoted individually, subject medical history)

In order not delay Raffles delivery there is obviously a time limit to this option with it also open practically only to early apartment buyers, who can then plan to spend at least 6, and up to 12, months working on their apartment.

There are also practical time limits in that, for example, it takes 3 – 6 months to design (your own) and then make, entirely by hand, your unique all wool or silk / wool 6 x 4m carpet for your lounge.

However within these limits we can almost guarantee that your only problem is going to be making up your mind what you want from the sophisticated and exciting options available. To help in this our own Jania Ashby and Pat Dee with between them 80 years interior experience, will also be available to guide you, with them also responsible for helping to execute, together with our European master cabinet maker, the designs from Donald Starkey.

Indicative costs for such packages (excluding medical insurance), based on a minimum 6 months, are:

• Euro 4,500 to 8,800 (70 to 136m2) per month for a 5 star, Caravelle Hotel suite or €7,500 per month in the Park Hyatt Saigon.
  Note: optional full board in all hotels.
• Euro 5,000 per month for a luxury furnished, one bed room, fully serviced apartment, near the city centre, a Fiat “City” car / driver and PA.
• €1,500 to €2,000 a rented furnished apartment / town house, only.
• €3,000 to 6,000 a suburban villa with pool, only.

In addition AMS can also arrange house keepers, cooks, gardeners and Canadian trained security guards, etc. to meet your needs.
