No organised activities, only support

There is no cruise director as such on Raffles and no organised activities but the ship’s staff will very likely have visited most countries in a long career at sea and the Captain will organise information meetings before arrival to help guide you ashore.

On health matters the doctor will always have available completely up to date information via the WHO and local authorities to ensure that residents are properly informed and protected.

Money to use ashore is never a problem. Wherever possible the onboard bank’s ATM dispenses local currency, arranged by HSBC with its correspondent banks.

In some ports it is likely that the crew will organise sports competitions with local teams that you can also participate in, or support.

Personal safety ashore is not forgotten. Raffles has its own VHF station that lets you keep in touch with the 24-7 manned control room / emergency centre within about 40 miles, and if you carry one of Raffles portable satellite phones, from anywhere at all.
